Publication Ethics and Editorial policies
- The publisher ensures that all publication practices adhere to established ethical standards and best practices.
- The Chief Editor, Senior Editors and Editors are responsible for ensuring that the peer review process is fair, unbiased, and conducted in a timely manner. All manuscripts will be evaluated by independent external reviewers with relevant subject expertise.
- Reviewers are expected to notify the Editor of any significant similarity or overlap between the submitted manuscript and any previously published work.
- Any potential conflicts of interest, including recommendations for self-citation by reviewers, will be carefully assessed by a Senior Editor.
- The identity of reviewers will remain confidential unless they choose to disclose it. All communications related to manuscripts and the review process will be treated with strict confidentiality by the editorial team.
- Unpublished information and data contained in submitted manuscripts will be kept confidential and will not be used for personal or professional advantage by Editors or reviewers.
- Manuscripts submitted by an Editor will not be handled by that individual. Such submissions will be evaluated independently by reviewers and a Senior Editor, with the final decision made by the Chief Editor.
- For research involving human participants or animals, authors must provide a statement confirming that the study has received approval from the appropriate Institutional Ethics Committee.
- Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscripts they review and must not use any information from them for personal or professional gain.
- Reviewers should not request the inclusion of their own work as citations unless it is genuinely relevant and necessary for the manuscript.
- The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication without any conflicts of interest.
- The corresponding author is responsible for correctly listing the order of co-authors at the time of submission. Any changes to authorship (including addition, removal or reordering ) will only be permitted in exceptional cases with the approval of the Chief Editor.
- All sources of financial support or funding received for the research must be appropriately acknowledged.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
The editors of JMPR uphold widely accepted ethical standards and principles followed by scholarly and professional publishers. Authors submitting manuscripts to JMPR must agree to the Author’s Declaration, confirming the following:
- The manuscript, in whole or in part, has not been previously published, is not under consideration elsewhere, and is not in press. IMS does not accept papers containing data that have been or will be published elsewhere. An exception is made for review or retrospective articles, provided that the original sources are properly credited and any previously published figures or tables are used with appropriate permission.
- The results presented are the authors’ original work and provide an accurate and complete representation of the research conducted. Practices such as plagiarism, data fabrication, selective reporting, or the use of uncredited data are unethical and strictly prohibited.
- All relevant previously published work that has influences the study’s methods, results, or conclusions has been properly acknowledged and cited.
- The authors have clearly acknowledged all sources of funding and have disclosed to the editor(s) any potential conflicts of interest related to funding sources or author affiliations.
Failure to comply with these ethical standards will result in the rejection of the manuscript and may lead to further sanctions, including suspension of submission privileges to any of the society’s journals.
